Dr. Adisa Azubuike, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist who graduated from the City University of New York and has practiced for over 30 years in Albany, New York and Toronto. 

Dr. Azubuike was the Supervising Psychologist and a trainer in evidence based treatment for the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, and also worked in the crisis unit, of Albany’s Capital District Psychiatric Center providing supervision and practicum training in diagnostic and crisis assessment.

He has extensive experience working across the developmental spectrum with children, adolescents, young adults, adults, couples, families, and groups.

Dr. Azubuike uses both psychodynamic and evidenced-based short-term treatment approaches.

His original training and initial practice were in Psychodynamic therapy, but over the years he has trained in a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches including:

  • Cognitive- Behavioural (CBT)

  • Sports and Performance therapies

  • Solution-Focused, and Trauma-focused therapies (including EMDR)

He has  consulted to, and worked in, community agencies providing program development, psychotherapy, and supervision.
