Dr. Bauer believes that to live a rich and meaningful life is to experience the full range of emotions. She is passionate about helping clients develop skills that can lessen the impact of negative thoughts and emotions and that can allow them to keep showing up in their lives with courage, purpose, and authenticity.
Dr. Bauer seeks to create a safe and non-judgmental space in which she can join with clients on the path towards greater awareness, lead them into and through difficult emotions and experiences, while equipping them with skills to effect positive change out in the world. She strives to meet individuals where they are at and to gently move them towards change with curiosity, kindness, compassion, and collaboration.
Dr. Bauer received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Concordia University. She completed her clinical internship and worked as a clinical psychologist at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in the Mood and Anxiety Program. She subsequently worked at the University of Toronto counselling centre, providing CBT to students dealing with a variety of mental health difficulties.
