Dr. Janice Kuo, C. Psych., is a Founding Partner of EBT3. Dr. Kuo received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Washington under the direct mentorship of Dr. Marsha Linehan, the developer of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). After her doctorate, she completed her post-doctoral training at Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Kuo is a certified Individual and Group DBT therapist and specializes in the treatment of individuals with severe emotion dysregulation and suicidal and self-harm behaviors. She has given several national and international workshops in DBT since 2005 and has provided consultation and supervision to clinicians across Canada and the U.S. Dr. Kuo is an Associate Professor at Ryerson University where she is the director of the Borderline Personality Disorder and Emotion Processing Laboratory (BEP Lab), and an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Washington. Dr. Kuo has published numerous empirical and theoretical papers pertaining to DBT, emotion processes in borderline personality disorder, and mechanisms of change in DBT. She is a member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario, the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA), The Canadian Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies (CACBT), and the Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT).
