Doctoral Resident in Clinical Psychology
Supervisor: Dr. Kelly Horner
Shadini Dematagoda is a PhD student in Clinical Psychology at Toronto Metropolitan University and is completing a rotation of her clinical psychology residency at EBT3. She has trained in inpatient, outpatient and community settings, including St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital, Baycrest Hospital, Community Head Injury Resource Services of Toronto, and Valentin & Blackstock Psychology.
Across these settings, Shadini has worked with adults experiencing mood, anxiety, trauma- and stressor-related, obsessive-compulsive, and substance use concerns, as well as neuropsychological conditions. She also supports individuals who are seeking greater understanding, more effective coping strategies or support during periods of stress and transition.
Her therapeutic approach is primarily cognitive-behavioural, collaborative, and culturally sensitive. She works with clients to understand the factors contributing to their concerns and develop practical strategies that align with their goals, values, and circumstances. Shadini strives to build a supportive therapeutic relationship that fosters meaningful and lasting change, greater insight and increased self-confidence.
